The International Cultural Institute (IKI Vienna) was founded in 1981 by German teachers and is today a renowned German school for international students. With 450-500 participants per month from all over the world and many years of experience, it offers German courses and programs in cooperation with US universities. The IKI is also a testing center for the Austrian Language Diploma, works closely with the Integration and Employment Fund and emphasizes qualified teachers, communication and intercultural exchange. This mission statement has been upheld for over 40 years.

For more than 100 years, the German courses at the University of Vienna have been open to people from all over the world above the age of 16. We offer German courses at proficiency levels from A1 to C2 all year round. The courses lead to high-quality final exams and widely recognized certificates including ECTS points. In the summer months of July, August and September, the popular Summer Intensive Courses take place in Vienna accompanied by an optional afternoon program. Our association GKI specialises in 2-week SUMMER CAMPS for children and teenagers in a picturesque village in the Austrian Pre-Alps: we accept not more than 20 participants per camp and we are international indeed. The Mandl language courses do exist as a family business for over 60 years. At changing locations in the most beautiful regions of Austria, we bring together international youth for German lessons and Austrian children for English lessons at the same camp. The family atmosphere of the small camps offers security and good care especially for little learners aged 11 and over. Many interesting excursions in the region complete the program.
